How am I?

How often do we really check in with ourselves? Here is a brief practice to help us do this. We cultivate our checking in by listening. Here we start by listening to sounds and then bringing our attention to listen inwardly, asking 'how am I?' We also ask ourselves, 'what do I need?' The key here is to rest with the question rather than seek a response.

Mini Self-Care Practice

Taking time for ourselves is often tricky to do when our lives are so busy. Here is a practice that you can do in under 20 minutes. Once you have learnt these elements - grounding, deepening, connecting and comforting - then you can do them on their own, together, anywhere and at anytime during your day to soothe and calm your nervous system helping you rest and reset.

Befriending yourself

How often are you kind to yourself? If it is anything like me in the past, then not very often! In fact, I was more likely to get cross with myself and tell myself off. Sound familiar? This lovely short practice is just the beginning of changing the neural pathways in the brain towards kindness. It is commonly thought now that we have a natural 'negativity bias' and this practice is helping us tip that balance, so that we can move from the self-critic to self-compassion. Enabling us to 'befriend' ourselves for a better relationship with ourselves and a more fulfilling life.
